LEARN-2-RIDE MOTORCYCLE TRAINING

NOVICE:
During your training you will be introduced to the legal requirements to ride on the road, the importance of wearing protective equipment and an eyesight test. You will also learn about the motorcycle controls, how to start and stop the engine, how to carry out daily and weekly machine checks, how to take the bike on and off the stand, wheel the machine, learn about balance and bring the motorcycle to a controlled halt by braking.
As you progress, other techniques will include: riding in a straight line, riding slowly and under complete control, changing gear, negotiating bends, performing figure of eights, left and right hand turns, the emergency stop, steering to avoid a collision, U- turns and rear observation.

INTERMEDIATE:
Once you have mastered the basics you will learn how to reduce risks and improve your attitude towards your riding, dealing with visibility and vulnerability, riding defensively, rear observation, adopting the correct speed, road position and separation distance whilst riding and the effects of drug and alcohol use. You will also learn the correct procedures for dealing with different weather, road surface, junction and traffic situations, as well as road layouts, first-aid and eco riding.

MANOEUVRES (OFFROAD) TEST:

MOTORCYCLE PRACTICAL ROAD TEST:
You
will learn how to correctly answer safety questions asked by your test examiner
about your motorcycle (click here for 'Show Me/ Tell Me' questions) and how to ride competently and safely to gain your
motorcycle licence dealing with traffic lights, roundabouts, junctions,
pedestrian crossings, gradients, bends and obstructions by adopting the correct speed, road
position and separation distance at all times.
